Dunwich Horror : Arkham Horror Expansion

Dunwich Horror is the first board based expansion for Arkham Horror. As such it contains a board depicting the town of Dunwich, which can be travelled to via Arkham train station. This allows the inclusion of the Dunwich Horror monster, which speeds up the destruction of Arkham and the emergence of the Ancient Ones. Monsters that spawn in Dunwich are not added to the monster limit, instead they can make there way towards Vortex points on the map, to call forth the Dunwich Horror itself. Once this beast emerges the characters have to go all out to stop it, otherwise the Terror level and the doom track both fill up rapidly. Just to add a bit more fear to the encounter, the Horror’s powers change every time it is fought, so you never know what you are going to be facing. It also doesn’t stay dead for long, so you must maintain your vigilance.
In addition to the extra board and Dunwich Horror, the game also contains a new batch of four new Ancient Ones for you to face and Eight more foolhardy investigators. New mythos cards include the dreaded ‘Gate Bursts’ which can render even the powerful Elder Signs impotent. Also included are loads more gate cards, location cards for all sites on the board (Including Dunwich), 28 fearsome monster counters and two more otherworld locations to explore at your peril. New ‘Madness’ and ‘Injury’ cards keep your investigators on their feet even if they take fatal injuries (though they may be gibbering, mutilated wrecks of human beings!).
Overall Dunwich Horror is a must have expansion for an already great game. The new board adds more exploration and improves the game for a large group of investigators. The visuals and high quality art of the original game are maintained and new cards, Ancient Ones and Investigators add to the replayability. Highly recommended.
